Love of Racing Keeps Nemechek
Running in Nationwide

Source: Sporting News

Joe Nemechek ranks among the top 15 in the Nationwide Series in career victories and poles. And he was the series champion in 1992.

Recently, though, Nemechek has become a victim of the money game in the sport. Without proper sponsorship, he has had to struggle to make races, let alone run the entire distance and compete for a top finish.

The past two weeks have been an excellent, if unfortunate, indicator of that. He finished third at Talladega on April 16 for his best finish in almost seven years in the series.

On April 23, Nemechek didn’t even drive at Nashville despite being 10th in the points standings. Instead, he put a driver who brought sponsorship behind the wheel of his No. 87.
